The opportunity

Our client is an established Australian technology company that designs and manufactures communications products used in demanding, real world conditions. They're looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer to join their engineering team and help shape their next generation of products.

This isn't a role where your work disappears into someone else's product. You'll own RF design across complete systems, influence technical direction and product architecture, and see your designs through from concept to production.

What you'll do

  • Design RF circuits including amplifiers, filters, mixers and oscillators
  • Simulate, analyse and optimise RF system performance
  • Prototype, bring up, test and validate designs using industry standard RF test equipment
  • Lead RF design activities across the product lifecycle and transition products into manufacturing
  • Investigate complex technical issues and drive root cause fixes
  • Support schematic capture, component selection and PCB design reviews
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory, performance and manufacturing requirements
  • Work closely with electronics, firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams

What you'll bring

  • A degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, or similar
  • Extensive hands on experience designing RF circuits and systems
  • Strong knowledge of RF amplifiers, filters, oscillators and mixers
  • Experience with ADS, LTspice and Altium, or equivalent tools
  • Hands on PCB prototyping, bring up and validation
  • Confidence with spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes and power meters
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance

Highly regarded

  • Experience developing communication or radio based products
  • Analogue, digital and mixed signal design
  • Knowledge of AM, FM and digital modulation
  • Experience in ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments
  • Taking products from concept through to production release
